Ninesy by Kismet
Welcome to the first issue of Ninesy. A collection of my musings, a community for Kismet clients, friends, and fashion lovers alike. Ninesy is a bi-monthly newsletter (or blog if you will) where you’ll find everything from curated picks for people from the Kismet community, best sellers amongst my clients, current cravings, the list goes on. I’m so excited to share this with you and expand the Kismet and now Ninesy community. Comments are encouraged.
styling you
A few weeks ago I asked you guys to do something fun. DM me on Instagram for a chance to get virtually styled by me. I received way more submissions than I expected and decided to turn this into a bi-weekly segment so that I could reach, work with, and help more of you.
Nothing gets me more excited than working with a new client - getting to know them, their style, their lifestyle and then making their vision come together. This of course will be a tamed-down version of that but I’m hoping it inspires you guys and reaches new people.
I randomly clicked on a submission and Zoe came up. A few things about Zoe
She’s a newlywed who is heading to St. Barths for her honeymoon
Some of her style crushes are Maeve Riley, Tania Sarin, and Morgan Stewart
She’s petite with curves (larger bust, small waist)
She typically goes for neutrals but likes green too
I took in all of the info above, stalked her IG to get a visual of her style, and got to work. See what I chose for her and shop my picks below.
P.S. Don’t forget to submit yourself for a chance to get styled in the comments or on IG!
things worth investing in
As a personal stylist, my job is to dress people of course, but also guide them. While shopping is (very) fun, I never want to promote overconsumption and I believe the best way to avoid this is by investing in clothing that you love and clothing that lasts. In each issue, I’ll share pieces I think are worth investing in. Today, we’re chatting work bags.
The commute to work can be the pits, but a luxe work bag will brighten your 9-5. What you wear tells a story about you. It’s a narrative that you can control. This is especially true in the workplace. The below bags are timeless, and chic, and tell a hell of a story.
The Khaite lotus bag, comes in multiple colors
Picks for men
I can’t forget about my guys. Fall is my favorite season for dressing and that might even apply more to men than women. While women’s clothing ranges in styles and vibes, men don’t have nearly as much to choose from. Fall and winter dressing is all about layering - and layering gives men a chance to show some range. My favorite three layers for men right now below.
my wishlist
The top three things on my wishlist are classiccccc. I typically won’t shell out the big bucks for something unless I know I can wear it over and over. That it will be in my closet for years to come. Bonus points if it has good resale value. I love seeing what’s trending in fashion and sometimes participating BUT I will never spend $$$ on something that I know I won’t like in a year. Here are the top three things I’m craving right now.
chanel pointed toe patent leather slingbacks
I tried these on in London and fell in LOVE. I didn’t get them but they have been on my mind since. They are the perfect mix of classic and cool. I’m really having a moment with patent leather.
burgandy chanel flats
I know ballet flats are a major trend right now but Chanel flats were never out of style in my opinion. For the past 10 years, I’ve always had at least one pair in my closet (all hand-me-downs thanks to my mom). Because they’re such a big trend right now, you can definitely find a good pair for a reasonable price if you don’t want to pay for Chanel, but we’re talking about my wishlist here. I’m on a mission to get these before the year ends.

khaite scarlet cardigan
Let’s get real, there isn’t anything from Khaite I don’t covet (I can’t stop looking at this, these and this) but I am itching for another Scarlet cardigan. I was lucky enough to find one on The Real Real for $742 (see below) as opposed to the nearly $2000 it retails for. Now, I’m not typically a purple girl but the lilac surprised me. I waited almost a week before buying it, making sure I really wanted it and in the end, the deal was too good to pass up. I had never touched the sweater in person so all I had to go by was that the internet loved it. I was beyond pleasantly surprised when it arrived and I’m now obsessed. Luxe, lush, soft, thick - it is truly the perfect cardigan. Not to mention the shape.
I am deeply craving another one already - I’d love black or red. I’m keeping my eyes peeled on The Real Real but if you’re not a fan of secondhand, you can find it here. I just purchased the Jenni Kayne Cooper cardigan in black which is a similar vibe and I own this Helsa cardigan which is a certified dupe for way less $$$. There’s also this one from Zara which is very similar.
jill sander red shoulder bag
We know red is everywhere. I discussed it on IG and Tiktok at length. And while it’s definitely trendy to wear red right now, I sincerely believe that a color can’t go out of style, and red has always been and will continue to be a chic classic. I spotted this Jill Sander bag in London and she’s just too perfect. I’ve sadly hit my bag allowance for a while but a girl can dream.
trend to try
I recently saw an article on Vogue about doily dressing and loved it. It is the perfect unexpected way to transitional dress.
I decided to play dress up in my closet to see how this plays out off the runway and in real life. It’s so easy to do with things you probably already have in your closet.
on a personal note
If you follow me on IG you’ll know that I just came back from a truly sick three-week vacation in Europe. I was in Paris for my best friend’s wedding, the Amalfi coast for my honeymoon and topped it off with a long weekend in London to see one of my best childhood friends.
Food and fashion are my top two, so it seems necessary that I share with you my favorite meals and places to shop from the trip.
Paris
Early June - WOW just wow. A wine bar/ restaurant that has no wine list, just vibes. You tell them what you like and they offer you something (much like Sauced in Williamsburg IYKYK). Beyond the glorious orange wine I downed, my meal was truly one of the best I’ve had in a long time. I was with a group of six so we basically got the entire menu. Some highlights, the gnocchi - basically gnocchi topped with something along the lines of nacho cheese and chili crunch - truly a dream. And the carrots.
Le Petit Luteria - I saw this on Tiktok (where I get pretty much all of my food inspo) and it was described as the quintessential chic Parisian bistro. I had to go. I got the tuna tartare (if this is on a menu, I WILL GET IT), mushroom pasta, and fries. Yes yes and yes. It was killer, the people watching was spectacular.
I didn’t do a ton of shopping but I always love the department store Galeries Lafayette Haussmann. I tried on a SICK vintage red Kenzo cropped blazer that I didn’t get and I’m still kicking myself for it.
Ischia
My best meals by far were at our hotel, Botania Relais & Spa. We had pasta the first night that I ended up ordering a second time directly after finishing it because it was that good. Our hotel was also 10/10.
I loved Giardano de Eden beach club. The food was not great but the vibes were immaculate.
Ischia is gorgeous, chill, and exactly what we needed after a big party weekend in Paris.
Capri
The shopping is incredible and everyone dresses to the nines - these are both things I very much like.
Ill Riccio is stunning and I loved the lobster pasta I got there. Go to Hotel La Palma for a martini on the rooftop bar. Ristorante Panorama Capri had an incredible view and even better cheese ravioli.
Shopping-wise, if you’re into designer clothing, you’ll be in heaven.
Sorrento
Ugh, what a sleeper hit! Jake and I LOVED Sorrento. It was the perfect mix of busy and chill and it was truly breathtaking. Our hotel, Parco de Principi was our very favorite of the trip, we didn’t want to leave. The food at the hotel was incredible - so much so that we had three meals there in two days. The seafood risotto changed my life, I’m not joking.
Rome
Rome has great vintage shopping. I got an amazing Miu Miu jacket at Lesley Luxury Vintage and there are tons. of other designer vintage stores nearby.
I had the best sandwiches of my life at Fuorinorma. I went alone and ordered two with the intention of eating half of each and bringing back the rest for Jake. Jake had no sandwiches that day.
London
I love London. I could very very happily live there. We went to Dishoom which I had been to before. It’s famous for a reason BUT we randomly ended up at a restaurant called Fat Punditt and omg I was BLOWN AWAY. We went a little nuts with the ordering but everything was just so good. My friend and I even considered going back the next day.
We spent 6 hours over the course of two days in Selfridges (bury me there, please). On the second day we had lunch at Aubaine which was surprisingly so good! We got the superfood salad with halloumi, soft shell crab, fries, and the biggest glasses of chardonnay they offered.
I could not leave London without having a meat pie. Lamb and Flag has SUCH a good steak and ale pie. It was covered in gray and served with pearl onions, mashed potatoes, and leeks. I will dream about this meal.
You can check out everything (well a lot of) what I wore on my trip here and shop it here.
